I wish people understood THAT.
Though Jesus DID say there are none good, I wanted to state the basic biblical position for a sinner to receive help
2 Chronicles 7:14
Through the picture you can see that Catholics go to Confession and God forgives their sins.
Catechism of the Catholic Church
1449 The formula of absolution used in the Latin Church expresses the essential elements of this sacrament: the Father of mercies is the source of all forgiveness. He effects the reconciliation of sinners through the Passover of his Son and the gift of his Spirit, through the prayer and ministry of the Church:
God, the Father of mercies, |
When you take out all the grammatical addendums, you're left with the basic argument non-Catholics have with Catholics, and that is;
It doesn't matter (to the church) what God has done, or is ... because without 'the church' God isn't or can't do anything to or for people .. His creation.
God made us but He has chosen to neuter His power with/over us voluntarily and give that power to fallible men.
fallible men governing fallible men according to an infallible God
It just doesn't make sense.
It DOES make sense for a fallible man to approach an infallible God, have a conversation, and get results first hand.
