The most that could happen, I think --- we went all over this when ND gave the their damned honorary doctorate to the Obamanation -- is that the Bishop of Ft. Wayne-South Bend, Bp Kevin Rhoades, could retract their right to call themselves a Catholic University. It would be dramatic --- and I wish he would --- but it probably wouldn't change anything.
A kerfuffle came up last year at University of Santa Clara, a Jesuit institution, which resurrected the question of whether they should lose their Catholic recognition after Scandal #84755, and a survey revealed the the majority of these Lo-Fo undergraduates did not even know it was a Catholic university.
Shameful. Outrageous, Pathetic.
Certainly is...You would think somewhere, someone would publicly distance that school from your religion...It is after all still known as a Catholic Institution...
The diabolical disorientation is so widespread at this point that the worldly corruption at formerly Catholic schools such as ND, University of Santa Clara, etc. has become the rule rather than the exception.
Sister Jeannine Gramick, co-founder of New Ways Ministry, spoke with the Stonehill College community recently about her experiences in LGBT ministry and hopes for the future. This event came at a critical juncture for colleges run by the Holy Cross Fathers, whose campuses have seen signs of progress and regression in the last year around LGBT issues....An article in the campus newspaper, The Summit, captured faculty reactions for those who participated in the evening, including that of Fr. George Piggford who teaches English: I think that Sister Jeannine Gramicks witness and her ministry is incredibly powerful I have a great deal of respect for her willingness to live according to her conscience, and to discern, not just on her own, but in conversation with other people, how she feels God is leading her to minister to other people.

Archbishop Fulton Sheen: If you want your kids to defend their Faith send them to a public school, if you want them to lose their Faith send them to a Catholic School.
Do you know to whom (if anybody) N.D. is answerable? In whose diocese is it? Who gets to say, "You may not call yourself Catholic anymore." That kind of stuff?
