It's certainly not such a leap to see it happening in your religion as it is in some Protestant religions...In fact, it's already happening in your religion, just hasn't reached administrative approval, yet...

Anyone who voted for either presidential candidate in 2012 voted for a politician who supported same-sex domestic partnerships. When he was governor of MA, Romney even opposed an amendment, then before the General Court, that would have banned same-sex marriage and outlawed all domestic partnership benefits for gay couples.
(In all fairness, it seems that Romney saw gay domestic partnerships as the only way to fend off gay marriage, so I'll give him the necessary benefit of the doubt.)

That's completely deranged. The Bible states that when a husband cleaves to his wife, they become one flesh. It doesn't say anything about a sodomitic act producing a one-flesh union. Listen up: it can't, because only in normal conjugal intercourse do two people unite to perform a single physiological function, which is the procreative act.
Would God say Alexander Portnoy became one flesh with a piece of beef liver? God forbid. What barbarity.

"It's" already happening? WHAT is already happening? I'll tell you what's already happening: priests are already being excommunicated in they favor gay "conduct", including gay marriage. (Two that I can name without even looking it up: Fr. Roberto Francisco Daniel, known by local community as "Father Beto", in Brazil, Fr Greg Reynolds of Melbourne, Australia.)
Two American religious --- Sr. Jeannine Gramick and Fr. Robert Nugent, founders of the pro-"gay" New Ways Ministry --- were ordered to disband New Ways and permanently prohibited from any writing, speaking, or pastoral work involving homosexual individuals. (Sr. Jeannine refused this order, and was required to leave the School Sisters of Notre Dame; Fr. Nugent, who complied conscientiously with the silencing order for the last 15 years of his life, died just last week. May God reward him for his obedience.)
