Mark Biltz is the founder of El Shaddai Ministries, a Hebrew roots resource and teaching ministry located near Tacoma, Washington. Recently Biltz has attracted attention in presentations and YouTube videos about end-time prophecy and the Lords return. He discusses the significance of four total lunar eclipses that will fall on the dates of Passover and Sukkot in 2014 and 2015. The Crucifixion of Jesus was at the time of Passover, and Biltz believes that the Second Coming of Christ must happen at Sukkot, so he argues that this relatively unusual event of four lunar eclipses on these four dates has great significance. He also mentions two solar eclipses in 2015 having prophetic implications. Because total lunar eclipses often appear red, people sometimes call a totally eclipsed moon a blood moon. Therefore, Biltz suggests that these eclipses are a fulfillment of the prophecy in Joel 2:31 of the sun being darkened and the moon turning to blood and suggests that they may presage the Lords return. Others, such as John Hagee, have begun speaking about this as well. Let us examine some of these claims.
Why do total lunar eclipses often appear red?
A lunar eclipse occurs when the earths shadow (the umbra) falls on the moon. If the earths shadow completely covers the moon, it is a total eclipse. But a partial lunar eclipse happens if the earths umbra only partially covers the moon. Because the earth has an atmosphere that bends light around its edge, the earths umbra is not completely dark. So, the totally eclipsed moon will reflect the color of the light contained in the earths shadow. The earths atmosphere scatters out shorter-wavelength light (green through violet) leaving mostly longer-wavelength light (red, orange, and yellow) in the earths umbra.

Youll be wrong, just as everyone else has been...
Maudeen is right on. These are End Times. Only the Father knows the time when Jesus will return, but we will know the season.
My question to you: Do you know where your soul will be the moment after you die? Eternity is forever. (John 3:16)
Oh ... I would say that DISASTER is coming and everyone senses it. With just two things, you can tell that disaster is coming.
One ... is that the debt of the USA being so huge and still growing, so much so, that we’ll never be able to catch up again - that spells disaster of immense proportions, from which we will never recover and many millions will die because of it.
Two ... with the entire Islamic world on a rampage to take over the entire world under the control of Sharia Law, and all the while, trying to eliminate Israel, while they are at it ... you also know this is going to end up in a monumental disaster.
Sorry to burst your balloon, but DISASTER is right around the corner,
Bump
I understood his points, but something “momentous” happens almost every year. If you’re looking for something to happen, you’ll likely take some happenstance as a sign. Celestial events have no bearing on our Earthly outcomes.
Debt and the Islamic world are serious issues. What bearing do Blood Moons have on either? The Islamic world has been a disaster for well over a thousand years. Some years worse than others. This year will be nothing new.

You are right. . disasters are on the way and some are already here!
He is using a formula that has been used many times.
1. Speak in general terms
2. Predict cyclical outcomes
3. Push an already occurring trend
I would also like to know when he predicted these outcomes for. Was he thinking early 80’s, late 80’s, 90’s, etc.?
I don’t know how old you are but I have seen a few cycles and for America this is the worst regarding blasphemy, breakdown of the family, and disrespect for our country. etc, etc. The main thing in life is to be sure you know where you are heading for eternity. Jesus says to watch for the signs even though we won’t know the exact date.
You were answering someone else, when you said ... “Youll be wrong, just as everyone else has been. Fear mongering headlines sell...thats it.”
Those were two big issues (the ones I mentioned) which make it a whole lot more than simply a gimmick to sell papers. Just the one by itself is enough of a disaster to end life as we’ve known it - the collapse of the USA because the currency goes up in smoke.
The Islamic world, being the other one has been around as you said for a very long time - but they have not been making major pushes into the West all of that time. There have been two major pushes into the West, in their history - and the present day is the third major push and they stand a better chance of succeeding in overrunning the West, than they ever have before. That’s because the West is so weak and accommodates them and actually makes deals with their radicals. They make no bones about overrunning the West and turning the whole world into just a part of their world-wide caliphate. They are on the upside right now and gaining the ascendancy.
As far as what bearing the blood moons have with those two issues - I never related it to that. I was relating to you that DISASTERS are coming and contrary to what you say about simply selling papers - these many articles do discuss the seeds of the coming DISASTER that we’re facing.
And, as I was saying, I believe very many people are sensing the END OF ALL WE KNOW ... stemming from some disaster that is in the works right now.
I agree with most all of your post. I just think it’s best to control what you can, and not get caught up in doom and gloom. Things like that are a “mental cancer”. Either way, we probably agree on more things than less. Take care.
Understood. I don’t think the US currency will collapse, but we’ll see.
I agree that Islam is a very serious problem. I think the West will start waking up more and more. It may take another 9/11, or worse, terrorist attack though.
Does these lunar eclipses count if happens while we are experiencing daytime?
That is to say, what if it happens but North America(or is it Israel?) is facing away from the moon at the time?
Must it be night time in North America or Israel for each of these to count?
No, really. I’m curious.
I really am not looking for something to happen. I have come to appreciate prophecy lately, only after reading Scripture and seeing what I see.
A friend recently quoted the Bible verse about “a wicked generation seeking a sign” at me. Well, that is totally out of context, as happens with most people who do not really read Scripture and only know bits and pieces. The verse he quoted at me has to do with those who don’t believe, which, in this context, is him, not me. So not only was it out of context, it was completely the reverse of reality.
Someone has said that fully one-third of the Bible is prophecy. I didn’t count it up myself—can’t remember where I heard or read this. So we should dwell on that, and be grateful for all the heads-up! Imagine if we were not told!
I think youre confusing this as something that is Biblical. That’s not what is being pointed, out here. Let me put it another way, which may make it clearer - you could say that the Bible never existed and that there are no prophecies at all, nothing to look at in the Bible, and those festivals that were mentioned were just some national holiday enacted by a secular government and we would STILL be looking at this.
This has nothing to do with the Bible or prophecies - in and of itself. This is seeing a PATTERN (keeping in mind we would be looking at the same pattern, even if the Bible didnt exist).
Heres the pattern from the past ...
The Blood Red Moons Of 2014 And 2015: An Omen Of War For Israel?
http://thetruthwins.com/archives/the-blood-red-moons-of-2014-and-2015-an-omen-of-war-for-israel
Four TOTAL lunar eclipses occurred on the Jewish Passover and Feast of Tabernacles in 162 163 AD, coinciding with the worst persecution of Jews and Christians in the history of the Roman Empire. Within 3 years the Antonine Plague killed eight million people, a third of the population.
Four TOTAL lunar eclipses occurred on the Jewish Passover and Yom Kippur Holidays in 795 796 AD while King Charlemagne of the Holy Roman Empire established a DMZ buffer zone between France and Spain, ending centuries of Arab invasions into Western Europe.
Four TOTAL lunar eclipses occurred on the Jewish Passover and Yom Kippur Holidays in 842 843 AD. Shortly after the eclipses the Vatican church in Rome was attacked and looted by an Islamic invasion from Africa.
Four TOTAL lunar eclipses occurred on the Jewish Passover and Yom Kippur Holidays in 860 861 AD. Shortly after the eclipses the Byzantine Empire defeated Arab armies at the Battle of Lalakaon in Turkey and permanently stopped the Islamic invasion of Eastern Europe.
Four TOTAL lunar eclipses occurred on the Jewish Passover and the Feast of Trumpets Holidays in 1493 1494. Only months after King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella of Spain ordered all Jewish people to leave the country (after about 200 AD, Spain became and remained a second Jewish homeland for well over a millennia. So deeply woven into the fabric of Spain are the Jews that neither history can be fully studied without considering the influence of the other).
And to these listed above, are two more - the establishing of the State of Israel, and Israel gaining full sovereignty over Jerusalem.
In that program from Olive Tree Ministries where Jan Markell interviews Pastor Mark Blitz - he very briefly covers that. See Post #5.
And, in a nutshell, the answer is no. If it’s a tetrad, then it’s significant. And this is the definition for a Tetrad ...
Tetrad four successive total lunar eclipses, with no partial lunar eclipses in between, each of which is separated from the other by six lunar months (six full moons).
I have no idea. I'm a hundred percent convinced that the holy days of God can and do portend prophetic events. But I'm not convinced that this theory of blood moons has any merit beyond selling books.
The attached article does address your question in the sections titled "From What Vantage Point Must One View These Ecplises?"
1. It is Biblical to look at the moon and the stars to read messages from God. Read Gen 1:14. Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs
2. As far as NASA can tell, going back to AD 1, there have been only 7 tetrads, by the full definition of tetrad. They have always been associated with Israel, beginning with something awful and ending with joy.
3. We have been living in the End Days since the beginning of the Church. However, many End Times prophecies have been fulfilled in the last years, beginning with the Holocaust (Valley of Dry Bones), the rebirth of Israel, the return of Jews to their land... Only a fool would not see that we are running out of time.
4. The blood-red moon tetrads are a signal of something happening to Israel. However, given that Israel and very importantly Jerusalem will be the center of the action at the last days, it makes sense to assume the whole world will be affected.
5. True, nobody knows the day or the hour... of the Rapture, which does not affect Israel! But the signs in the sky and the prophecies of Isaiah, Ezekiel, Zechariah... suggest that it won't be long. Like other Freepers have told you, it is time to find out where you will spend eternity. Because don't be fooled, you will live for eternity, the question is where will you spend that time! If you haven't already done so, come to Jesus NOW. Today is the day of your salvation.
And so while signs may have occurred at the time of formation of the Zionist state of Israel, the signs had nothing to do with God blessing that which His prophets say is not to happen until Christ returns (example: Eze 21:25-27). God's signs have meaning for all of God's people all over the world, not just those of the tribe of Judah. These particular signs are warnings to clean up out houses. Had the past signs been significant in relation of the events that took place, the signs would have all occurred well before the events began to happen. All throughout His Word, nothing happened without it first being announced well ahead of time, by signs in the sky or by Word of God through His prophets.
Maybe they weren’t warnings. Maybe they were “imprimaturs”.
Websters says for imprimatur ...
... a mark of approval or distinction.
... sort of like those political commercials where the candidate says, “I approve this!” (or “I sanctioned this.”).
