The Christian faith has not been tried and found wanting. It has rather been found difficult and left untried. Chesterton
I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending. The story of Jesus is either the greatest event in history or the cruelest hoax. If it is a hoax, then the whole of the Christian message crumbles together with the hopes of those multitudes of lives built on his name. The apostle Paul said:
And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty. Yes, and we are found false witnesses of God, because we have testified of God that He raised up Christ, whom He did not raise up; if in fact the dead do not rise. For if the dead do not rise, then Christ is not risen. And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins! Then also those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable. -1 Corinthians 15:14-19 (NKJV)
But if the story is true, then this world has been hit with extraordinary news of earth-shaking consequences. Have you taken the trouble to decide which it is?
In a matter this weighty, it is in your interest to explore the truth or falsity of Christ's claims. Amazingly however, many people who don't believe have never bothered to explore the evidence in support of Jesus,[1] but to the contrary, often run away from it. At the same time, many Christians themselves are not sure, at bottom, whether the claims of their faith are solid. Is the Christian claim a hoax? Is it just wishful thinking? Or is it actually true?

You didn’t answer...what denomination or cult do you belong to?
“The usual definition of the trinity doctrine is three equal persons in one God.”
One God manifested into three persons.
“The comments didnt support that teaching I said.”
Scripture doesn’t come right out directly and state it, but makes it clear there is only one God. Yet he sent his Son and the Holy Spirit. That is very clear.
” I am “ repeated Jesus. Was he a liar or God?
Your question is bedsides the point here. I actually do my daily silent prayers from my own temple..my body. And God has greatly blessed me!
LOL...some may be ashamed of their embracing a cult.
Yes that to. That is how He redeemed us. If you believe He is the Lamb of God (as I do), it is contained within that.

********
He aint Three
God is one, but you are overlooking the fact that in Matthew 28:19 the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are listed together as EQUALS.
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, The Holy Bible: English Standard Version. (2001). (Mt 28:19). Wheaton: Standard Bible Society.
Sir that seems to be the problem. I have asked a very simple question of the opposing view and have yet to receive an answer. I have asked several times “if the Son of God is not truly God and truly man, then what is His true Nature?” I then offered a few potential options they could choose from. Of which were: a man, or demigod, or a different divine being other than God, or angelic creature or prophet. No answer so far.
The follow up question was posed as well: “Was the Son of God a created Being or like The Father always existed. Again no answers. I will just make the conclusion we are debating JWs
That text does not say the are equal..those are your words!
1 John 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
Now who was it again that we were to call the son?
Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Are you calling Jesus mighty God or are you denying Him that name?
not at all JW...I know tedw and neither he nor I are. Again you assume out of judgment.
tedw, Yes that to. That is how He redeemed us. If you believe He is the Lamb of God (as I do), it is contained within that.
So you believe mankind is redeemed by the blood of the Lamb of God, correct? If you believe the blood of one man was sufficient to atone for the sins of all mankind, then you have a major problem. The blood of one sinless man can only atone for one man. HOWEVER, in Acts 20:28 we read, "Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood. ACts 20:28
Note, it was God's blood, which purchased the church. Only the blood of a sinless God-man could atone for the sins of all mankind, and that sinless God-man was Jesus Christ.
“That text does not say the are equal..those are your words!”
Jesus says himself they are equal....” I am “
His Jesus, God?
Is he a liar?
This cult is rigid and they will not answer...there is no light here...only darkness. They are Witnesses, as another has speculated.
Good day.
The point being that SCRIPTURE lists FATHER, SON, and HOLY SPIRIT together as equals. Matthew 28:19
Well you missed the part of the multiple posts where I pointed out I was using two samples to hone down the discussion. I did so because it was evident the opposing view was not reading nor responding to those posts.
And Thomas was not the only verses referred to. I also included Jesus statement after the second temptation in Matthew 4. Do you have an answer for this?
Matthew 4:5-7 NASB
Then the devil took Him into the holy city and had Him stand on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down; for it is written, ‘H e will command His angels concerning You ‘; and ‘On their hands they will bear You up , So that You will not strike Your foot against a stone .’” Jesus said to him, “On the other hand, it is written, ‘You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.’”(NASB)
So do you have a response for both passages? If Thomas did not mean “God” what did he mean? I already provided the lexicon possibilities for theos and they are limited.
If The Son of God is not truly God and truly man, then what is His Nature? Is He an angel, or great prophet, or a lower divine being than the Father or a god? Is the Son of God a created Being or always existed with the Father? Who is Yahweh?
It might help me if I knew which Bible version you are using. That would help with regards to viewing the lexicon.
No, the point is that there is no word..equals..in that text. You are manipulating it to fit what you have been brainwashed to accept. Talk about cult like behavior!
“The blood of one man can atone for the sin of only one man”
I don’t know where you got that idea but it is not from the Scripture. Paul who preached that Jesus was the Son of God said it was by the gift and grace of ONE MAN that many are save. Read it yourself:
Death Through Adam, Life Through Christ
12 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned— 13 for before the law was given, sin was in the world. But sin is not taken into account when there is no law. 14 Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam, who was a pattern of the one to come. 15 But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one MAN, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many!
Here is a question.
Jesus was seen by many when He lived and preached yet John
said:
1 John 4:12
New Century Version (NCV)
12 No one has ever seen God, but if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is made perfect in us.
No man has seen God (including Doubting Thomas)yet Jesus was seen. How could Jesus be God?
I await your answer.
Folks are not judgmental if they ask you questions you don’t like or refuse to answer. This is a discussion forum not a proselytizing platform. You just don’t “drop out of warp” fire a few torpedoes and hit warp speed again. Discussion forums are not hit and run.
I don’t mind pertinent questions..but I don’t play your game..a game that you don’t even know you are playing.
