Are you saying that man has to add something to what Christ did to obtain salvation?
well the Bible says so: Colossians 1:24 Now I rejoice in what I am suffering for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ's afflictions, for the sake of his body, which is the church.
No. I am saying that I have heard many make the claim that they Accept Jesus into their life, and therefore will be saved. Their behavior later indicated that they must have been lying to themselves.
I don't think that if you truly mean it when you STATE you accept Jesus into your life, that you continue to openly sin.
YES....we are perfectly able to refuse His gift, and apparently many do. In order to obtain salvation we must accept His gift and act accordingly.Otherwise we are free to live whatever lifestyle that we choose......that could be a no-no.
