In the Vatican, downstairs, is a glass-enclosed metal box. it is labeled: HERE LIES PETER.

I get all choked up even thinking about it. Imagine, St. Peter's bones, right there. Thank goodness for all those Romans who WOULDN'T believe St. Paul when he went to Rome to spread the Good News. They didn't believe him because Paul hadn't been an disciple/apostle of Jesus.
Thank goodness St. Paul called for Peter to join him in Rome. God bless Peter for going.

When the Romans were going to kill Peter, he asked that he not be allowed the "privilege" to die like Christ did, as the Romans crucified Peter, so Peter was crucified upside down. Dreadful.

"HERE LIES PETER."

And there stood me once.

What a blessing that his relics will be displayed.

Interesting, and I had not seen this before. What is the source of the statement that St. Paul called for St. Peter to join him in Rome?
