Most of the opposition is Roman Catholic on this thread. If she went to Rome instead of Evangelical then praises would be sung. I posted a link where a town hall conservative states Powers is pro-Life. He could be wrong or wishful thinking. I will try to do some background work on this.
Having come from Protestantism to Rome in my mid teens, I understand. There is in evangelicalism nothing like an essentially evil action, at least as it is understand by orthodox Catholics, and of course nothing like a pope to say that something like abortion is wrong. Pro-life evangelicals may say that “the Bible” forbids abortion, but that is really an inference and not based on a specific text/s
