“Um... I think they’d better check those dimensions again...”

In every way, mormonism is the most bizarre religion created. Your example is just one excellent laugh.

And yet, because it is based ENTIRELY on feelings and not on objective truth, FReepers will defend it, despite all the falsehoods involved.

Nope what? You didn’t post that the Army was involved with your father’s marriage?

You said that in post 15.

We believe that priesthood authority was no longer with the early church following the death of the apostles — and it took revelation from God to restore that authority to the earth.

Joseph Smith received that priesthood authority under the hands of John the Baptist and Peter, James and John who acted under the direction of Jesus Christ.

“We believe that priesthood authority was no longer with the early church following the death of the apostles “

Every believer is a priest and together a kingdom of priests. The church never needed “restoring”.

You claim it did.

Please prove your claims. You have lots of provin’ to do!

1. That priesthood authority was vested in the Apostles.
2. That the death of the Apostles happened before authority was passed on to others.
3. That every believer- man and woman- is not a priest as Scripture claims.
4. That the scammer Smith actually saw anything he claimed.

Well... Let’s see something to back up your claims... Where’s the beef?!

Then I guess the Army is a religion since it was involved in both my father’s marriage and his funeral.

To me it looks like you said that the Army was involved in your father’s marriage.

Yes, you are reading it wrong. Read the post above to put in context.

You aren’t making sense, you keep making post after post but are so cryptic, you can’t seem to bring yourself to say anything that makes any sense, just spit it out and save some time.

My reading is that you clearly stated that the Army was involved in your father’s marriage.

(Yeah, we know, you think the gates of hell DID prevail against Jesus' church...making him out to be an outright liar...and that God didn't receive glory in the church thruout all generations...making the apostle Paul out to be a false prophet (Eph. 3:21)...

So Jesus could sustain the world but not His church, eh?

So Joseph Smith could sustain his Lds church, but Jesus could sustain his, eh?

So the Lds general authorities all have gone on the prophetic record saying God would never allow his current Lds prophets & the church to go astray, but that same God would allow past apostles & Jesus' church to go astray?

Outright double standard hypocrisy.

Hi ampu,

I don’t believe I can prove anything to you. I recommend that anyone who wants to know the truth concerning these things should go in prayer to the Source of truth, and pray to God for enlightenment.

It is through the revelation of the Holy Spirit that I have come to know that Joseph Smith was called of God. That’s the most meaningful and important proof that I have.

Best,

Normandy

“I don’t believe I can prove anything to you. I recommend that anyone who wants to know the truth concerning these things should go in prayer to the Source of truth, and pray to God for enlightenment.”

And that IS the Mormon deception method. It is the attempt to seduce people away from objective truth and into subjective feelings as a false substitute for truth.

You assume the Holy Spirit told you this, but as we discussed before, you cannot know it wasn’t a demon. You have surrendered truth for feelings. Now you accept a false prophet, false gospel, false savior. Each contradicts the objective truth revealed in the Scriptures. What you have is feelings, which are likely demonic.

The real Christ calls to you Normandy.

Whats the difference between Mormons and Protestants?

First, let's look @ origins:

The 500th anniversary of Martin Luther protesting abuses by Catholic leadership -- placing 95 theses on the Wittenberg Door -- is coming up in 4 years & 3 days. Luther was a Catholic monk & "prof" (Dr. Luther) who had no intention of starting a new church. In fact, he framed the church as part of the same historic church; but indeed one reformed.

Mormons on the other hand bill themselves NOT as a "reformed" church but a "restored" church -- meaning one started from scratch. They believe the Christian church (Catholic, Protestant & Orthodox) was apostate for 1800 years.

Hence, they don't believe themselves to be a "break-off" from the Protestants.

Mormonism is polytheistic (they teach many gods exist); Christianity worships only one God.

Mormonism teaches God the Father was once a man; Christianity points to the Bible as pinpointing God has been God from eternal past.

Mormonism teaches that the Mormon church and Mormons performing proxy baptisms = numerous redeemers for men; Christianity says Jesus is the ONLY Savior of man.

Mormonism treats the Good News as Laws to be obeyed...and adds legalistic commandments as part of a gigantic spiritual checklist to somehow show God that you are worthy of attaining godhood yourself; Christianity says we are saved by faith thru the grace of our Lord Jesus dying on the cross for us...and that good works are a RESPONSE to faith in which God the Holy Spirit empowers us to such works to glorify Him. Also, we are NOT god; and never will be ... although we collectively are the temple of the Holy Spirit.

Mormonism teaches that new prophetic revelations for the Church HAVE to be reduced to come ONLY thru 1 man...and that man has to live in Salt Lake City; Christianity says that in these latter-days, God speaks thru His Living Prophet, Jesus Christ (Hebrews 1:1-2) & also speaks thru prophetic spiritual gifts as given by the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians); and, of course He also speaks thru His written Word.

Etc etc.

Yes, it persists, to this day.
