So? Many Catholics think gay "marriage" and abortion are also ok. When did the Church become a democracy?

The rules are the rules. Take 'em or leave 'em.

Most who post rules about Marriage and Divorce on Free Republic really do not know what they are talking. Also, my PRIMARY point is that those who are extremely judgmental on the subject have probably born false witness at least once, since they have NO WAY of knowing if someone actually DID seek and receive a formal Annulment.
More to the point? The Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith is FREQUENTLY wrong through out history. Popes often APOLOGIZE for the previous actions of that body.
The Inquisition is a case in point.
