that was made explicitly to John to physically take care of his mother. not as a fighurative claim/command to all christians that Mary was their mother.
Sorry figurative response does not reconcile with this. "John 26 When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son!"
