But hey, I know that won't stop people from trotting out Newman's own self-justifying, self serving statements as salve for their own decision to, in the final end, simply accept what they are told, regardless of how much counterfactual conditional reasoning and cognitive dissonance must be engaged in to "argue away" any information that logically refutes various Romish, "papist" conceptual statements and positions, if only to the extent those may be more properly applied...
If any here does not understand what I'm talking about, then I must say to them "to be deep into the religion forum on FreeRepublic, is to see Romish, off-hand apologetic claims go down in flames repeatedly" with many of them only left "standing" without serious doubt and troubles through full embrasure of the physiological procedures mentioned in the previous, above paragraph.
I knew very little of RC's beliefs until I started reading the RF a decade or more ago.Mind you,I also knew little of what many Protestants believed.About the only thing I was fairly certain of was that the Bible was,or at least claimed to be 'The Word of God'.Of the latter,I am utterly convinced of it's truthfulness,of the former,I am thankfull I began reading it as an atheist. If you get my drift.
The Word of God is so above mere religion.
The church cannot fully discern the thoughts and intents of my heart as each member is (amongst other things)still busy grappling with their own.Specks, beams, thoughts and intents in human hearts that are "...desperately wicked and deceitfull above all things..." are not in a position to pierce "even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit..." so I think that God will forgive my working out of my own salvation including "how readest thou?"
Grace and peace to you BD
