We can do as you do and consult with the fallible Catholic Church, or we can consult with the word of God, the scriptures...

Which Bible is the true Bible, Luther's Bible, the Catholic Bible, or the Orthodox Bible?

Do you understand that it's impossible to consult any Bible for the answer? The answer depends on an extra-biblical authority. It's simple logic.

If there exists no Authority, no "pillar and foundation of truth," to determine the canon of Scripture, then one is left with, as R.C. Sproul once said, "a fallible collection of infallible books."

I'll say one thing for R.C., he was somewhat logical.

Col_2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

1Co_1:20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

1Co_2:5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

1Co_2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

Eph_1:17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:

It's clear to me that you don't spend much time, if any, in the scriptures... Your religion teaches you contrary to the scriptures that ONLY the clerics are indwelt with the Holy Ghost...Obviously most of you believe that...

A person will get nothing out of the scriptures who is not indwelt with the Spirit...He/she has nothing to guide him/her other than man's logic and wisdom...

Those who spend time in the scriptures are of a different mind than you...

*YAWN*

“Have thou ever in your mind this seal, which for the present has been lightly touched in my discourse, by way of summary, but shall be stated, should the Lord permit, to the best of my power with the proof from the Scriptures. For concerning the divine and holy mysteries of the Faith, not even a casual statement must be delivered without the Holy Scriptures; nor must we be drawn aside by mere plausibility and artifices of speech. Even to me, who tell you these things, give not absolute credence, unless thou receive the proof of the things which I announce from the Divine Scriptures. For this salvation which we believe depends not on ingenious reasoning , but on demonstration of the Holy Scriptures.” (Cyril of Jerusalem, Cat. Lecture 4, Ch. 17)

This “the scripture doesn’t teach sola scriptura” nonsense is tired and old. I’ve seen you repeat these stupid things from thread to thread, despite detailed arguments utterly refuting you. How many times does it take Jesus quoting scripture at His enemies to show that we should keep with scripture? How many times do we have to show you that “all scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable... that the man of God may be perfect?”

I’m sorry, but I’m going to have to stick with common sense, over the illiteracy that the RCC promotes.
