I respect much of what Spurgeon did and said, but Mr. Spurgeon is not inspired and it proves nothing to appeal to him like holy scripture came out of his mouth. Search the Scriptures instead!
Spurgeon was mightily used of The Lord, but I reject all forms of popery. He was no more infallible than the Bishop of Rome. Where I find him in error I will happily say so. In this instance I have studied the issue for myself many times and I am in full agreement with him. And I happen to like that quote and that sermon. If you disagree with me that’s fine. I am a baptist and I am a firm believer in baptism. I simply believe salvation is, from beginning to end, of The Lord and that baptism follows as a sign of the gracious work God has done in the heart of a sinner.
And you can drop your haughty presumption. You know nothing of my understanding, my spiritual journey, or my education. I’m not going to debate this. I’m off to my Bible study.
