The one I use is the Life Application Study Bible and the profiles of biblical persons, the chapter notes, maps, and index are invaluable.

The first one was a gift from my beloved grandmother and is falling apart. For three years it rarely left my hands or my presence. I am now on my second one.

Highly recommended, Thomas. Get one and do a comparison side by side with a Catholic bible.
