"Redeemed" means the price of our ransom has been paid by Christ, Who paid in blood. His blood is sufficient for everyone: this is why the Catholic Church has always honored Christ as the "Redeemer of the World".
But if we reject Christ, we will have horror here and hereafter. Christ warned more about hellfire than any other person in the 73 books of the Bible. He was not a "Universalist." Neither is Pope Francis.
Tagline for you.
But again, the Pope does not clearly teach that atheists are not saved. Instead, he currently teaches in his most recent comments that if they follow their consciences they too can be saved. He goes on to say that sin is going against one’s conscience, not Divine Law....and nowhere does he mention the need to be Catholic for a the best shot at getting into Heaven. Typical post-Vatican II rhetoric that misguides a whole lot of souls.
