“scurrilous, thoughtless, horrifying forms of an unworthy giving of Communion and a similar reception are customary to Catholics.”

Silly criticism about plastic cups.

When Christ initiated drinking the wine and breaking bread at His celebration of Passover with His disciples, He likely broke ordinary unleavened bread. The wine was shared in a communal cup that is not described. Each of the elements was part of the celebration of Passover - including drinking wine in the third cup of Redemption.

Somehow these ordinary, everyday elements were “good enough” for the Lord. Ordinary plastic is fine for 3 million people.

But it’s not “fine” for the Body of Christ. He deserves much better.

Do people customarily break-out the good china for Thanksgiving dinner?

Why is that?

Wouldn’t cleanup be much simpler if everyone used paper plates and plastic utensils?

Aren’t paper plates and plastic utensils good enough?
