HEY!

Any of you ANTI-Mormons confounded yet??

The

DOCTRINE AND COVENANTS

OF THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS

SECTION 71

Revelation given to Joseph Smith the Prophet and Sidney Rigdon, at Hiram, Ohio, December 1, 1831. HC 1: 238–239. The Prophet had continued to translate the Bible with Sidney Rigdon as his scribe until this revelation was received, at which time it was temporarily laid aside so as to enable them to fulfill the instruction given herein. The brethren were to go forth to preach in order to allay the unfriendly feelings that had developed against the Church as a result of the publication of some newspaper articles by Ezra Booth, who had apostatized.

1–4, Joseph Smith and Sidney Rigdon are sent forth to proclaim the gospel; 5–11, Enemies of the saints shall be confounded.

1 Behold, thus saith the Lord unto you my servants Joseph Smith, Jun., and Sidney Rigdon, that the time has verily come that it is necessary and expedient in me that you should open your mouths in proclaiming my gospel, the things of the kingdom, expounding the mysteries thereof out of the scriptures, according to that portion of Spirit and power which shall be given unto you, even as I will.

2 Verily I say unto you, proclaim unto the world in the regions round about, and in the church also, for the space of a season, even until it shall be made known unto you.

3 Verily this is a mission for a season, which I give unto you.

4 Wherefore, labor ye in my vineyard. Call upon the inhabitants of the earth, and bear record, and prepare the way for the commandments and revelations which are to come.

5 Now, behold this is wisdom; whoso readeth, let him understand and receive also;

6 For unto him that receiveth it shall be given more abundantly, even power.

7 Wherefore, confound your enemies; call upon them to meet you both in public and in private; and inasmuch as ye are faithful their shame shall be made manifest.

8 Wherefore, let them bring forth their strong reasons against the Lord.

9 Verily, thus saith the Lord unto you—there is no weapon that is formed against you shall prosper;

10 And if any man lift his voice against you he shall be confounded in mine own due time.

11 Wherefore, keep my commandments; they are true and faithful. Even so. Amen.

10.We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent

And not only the above, but Mormons say Jesus will return at a specific temple location on property the mainstream Mormons don't even own!

The property is owned by a very small Mormon offshoot group...referenced as "Temple Lot." And the Mormon jesus is supposed to return there -- and nowhere else but there (lot in Independence, MO).

The mainstream Mormons have tried to purchase the lot, but failed.

I guess they apostatized on the property, eh???

And now the Mormon jesus won't ever be able to return until the mainstream Mormons get their material/financial house in order!

(Kinda like blockading airfields so that Air Force One can't touch down)

Media Letter
26 June 2008 — Salt Lake City  (http://newsroom.lds.org/additional-resource/media-letter)

*The following is a letter from Elder Lance B. Wickman, General Counsel of the Church to publishers of major newspapers, TV stations and magazines. It was sent out on Tuesday, June 24, 2008.

Recent events have focused the media spotlight on a polygamous sect near San Angelo, Texas, calling itself the “Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.” As you probably know, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has absolutely no affiliation with this polygamous sect. Decades ago, the founders of that sect rejected the doctrines of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, were excommunicated, and then started their own religion. To the best of our knowledge, no one at the Texas compound has ever been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Unfortunately, however, some of the media coverage of the recent events in Texas has caused members of the public to confuse the doctrines and members of that group and our church. We have received numerous inquiries from confused members of the public who, by listening to less than careful media reports, have come to a grave misunderstanding about our respective doctrines and faith. Based on these media reports many have erroneously concluded that there is some affiliation between the two – or even worse, that they are one and the same.

Over the years, in a careful effort to distinguish itself, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has gone to significant lengths to protect its rights in the name of the church and related matters. Specifically, we have obtained registrations for the name “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,” “Mormon,” “Book of Mormon” and related trade and service marks from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and corresponding agencies in a significant number of foreign countries.

We are confident that you are committed to avoiding misleading statements that cause unwarranted confusion and that may disparage or infringe the intellectual property rights discussed above. Accordingly, we respectfully request the following:

  1. As reflected in the AP Style Guide, we ask that you and your organization refrain from referring to members of that polygamous sect as “fundamentalist Mormons” or “fundamentalist” members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
  2. We ask that, when reporting about this Texas-based polygamous sect or any other polygamous group, you avoid either explicitly or implicitly any inference that these groups are affiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
  3. On those occasions when it may be necessary in your reporting to refer to the historical practice of plural marriage in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, that you make very clear that the Church does not condone the practice of polygamy and that it has been forbidden in the Church for over one hundred years. Moreover, we absolutely condemn arranged or forced “marriages” of underage girls to anyone under any circumstances.

Stated simply, we would like to be known and recognized for whom we are and what we believe, and not be inaccurately associated with beliefs and practices that we condemn in the strongest terms. We would be grateful if you could circulate or copy this letter to your editorial staff and to your legal counsel.

We thank you for your consideration of these important matters.

Sincerely,

Lance B. Wickman

General Counsel

Besides...the letter doesn’t apply to Temple Lot...the Missouri offshoots from Mormonism (Temple Lot + church of Christ — formerly RLDS) were Emma Smith-based...so they not only eschew polygamy, but Emma was in denial that Joseph even practiced it...So all the Missouri groups don’t embrace the D&C as “scriptures”...don’t believe Brigham was a prophet...don’t believe in multiple gods...don’t build temples to lure teens into being an active part of necro-baptisms...etc.

"When Joseph was translating the Book of Mormon [I] had occasion more than once to go into his immediate presence, and saw him engaged at his work of translation. The mode of procedure consisted in Joseph's placing the Seer Stone in the crown of a hat, then putting his face into the hat, so as to entirely cover his face, resting his elbows upon his knees, and then dictating word after word, while the scribes Emma, John Whitmer, O. Cowdery, or some other wrote it down." (W.W. Blair interview with Michael Morse, Saints Herald, vol. 26, no. 12 June 15, 1879, pp. 190-91.)

If Joey's head was in a hat, why did he need gold plates, anyway? Couldn't he have just used the urim & thummim to dictate letter by letter, word by word, whatever was in the ground? Doesn't that make the gold plates superflous? And if these words were dictated directly by God's power, why has the Mormon church had to make 4,000 to 5,000 changes over these past two centuries?

He came back with how he loved how his mother translated the Bible into her family's life, day in, day out!

Great! Now THAT'S what I call "translated correctly"!

You may have missed this little tid bit...

As a conservative site, Free Republic is pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-Constitution, pro-Bill of Rights, pro-gun, pro-limited government, pro-private property rights, pro-limited taxes, pro-capitalism, pro-national defense, pro-freedom, and-pro America. We oppose all forms of liberalism, socialism, fascism, pacifism, totalitarianism, anarchism, government enforced atheism, abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, racism, wacko environmentalism, judicial activism, etc. We also oppose the United Nations or any other world government body that may attempt to impose its will or rule over our sovereign nation and sovereign people. We believe in defending our borders, our constitution and our national sovereignty.

You see that statement, you are aware there is a religion forum on FR...

It may be here for a reason...

As for the rest one wins a debate because they are right, and in this case the LDS is a fraud (which is really not debatable for the honest). If I was defending a fraud I would quickly loose interests as well, indeed I would ignore the truth in front of you as you say you should have in the first place.

Again...

Maybe a little sticky note on the monitor to remind yourself...

For all who are interested, we are listed as Mormon haters on the following site:
http://framreport.blogspot.com/

I view us as distributors of Mormon doctrine and history which, seems fair, as they are more knowledgeable of our doctrines than 99% of Christians.

I thought for 20 years LDS was just another branch of Christianity. Clearly they are not and they make no bones about that fact.

They are a unique doctrine and faith having nothing in common with Christianity.

I would find them equally as repugnant if they presented a message that focused on what others believed rather than what they believed. That is nothing but a shell game.

Preaching the "belief" that mormonism is the "true and living church" is, of course their belief...however, that statement is ALSO saying that all other faiths are false. Preaching that there was a "great apostasy that caused God's Gospel to be removed from the earth" is also their belief...and is ALSO saying that all other faiths were false and God removed his Gospel.

Focusing on what they believe that is a direct contradiction to Christian belief is repugnant.

Jim, your overplayed references to "Three Minutes Hate" from Orwell's "1984" are hypocritical to the hilt. Tell me sir, where is the NSA's new data center ?

Tooele Utah. Who's doing the spying ? .... Mormons, the same folks recruited and stacked into alphabet agencies across the government due to the language and experience they gained while avoiding military service en masse while RECRUITING FOR THEIR CULT !!

Mormon patriotism is a MYTH ! In addition to being a mind numbing satanic cult, the current leadership is in bed with the gun grabbing globalists like the temple recommend carrying spokesman HARRY REID !!

Mormonism 2013=Gay Scouts, Harry Reid, and the NSA "4th amendment museum".

"A kind of circular reasoning...well, "reasoning" isn't the right word here...circular "bosoming" perhaps...where just about anything can be constantly reinforced as "so"... "

The is called a "Double Bind" psychological control system, and is the basis of almost all cults.

If you are blessed, you owe ... so do/give ... for/to us.

If you are not blessed it is because you haven't done/given enough for/to us.

You cannot win.

Mormonism BOTH steals from the wealthy and grinds the face of the poor.
