The point was that Chiniquy didn’t leave Catholicism because he had some conversion; he was thrown out for being a disobedient horndog, and then LIED about it. But no, that one fact doesn’t disprove Protestant doctrine, just as the sins of a pope doesn’t disprove Catholic doctrine. It only makes the attempt to use his testimony as evidence against Catholicism a a pathetic joke.
