Yet Jesus commands obedience to the Pharisees, and St. Paul commends some traditions.
So what gives?
There either exists a contradiction or a paradox. Since God's word cannot contradict Itself, these statements must be paradoxical.
The solution is that two kinds of traditions exist, Sacred Tradition and human tradition.
St. Paul commends Sacred Tradition, as did Jesus,
Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples, Saying The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat: "All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not."
No, our Lord stated that the Pharisee made void the Word. There is tradition and then there is the word. As our Lord points out tradition that contradicts the word of God is wrong. I noticed in your explanation that you never even refer to the word of God, simply stating "two kinds of traditions". May I suggest revisiting the text?
