The senior pastor at Seattles Mt. Zion Baptist Church told followers to raise Cain in response to Saturdays acquittal of George Zimmerman in Sanford, Florida.
Zimmerman was accused of shooting 17-year-old Trayvon Martin to death nearly a year-and-a-half ago. His defense was Floridas Stand Your Ground law.
In his morning sermon, Rev. Aaron Williams said it was important for the African-American community to not allow this to die down and to highlight perceived injustice within the nations criminal justice system.
We should be raising Cain because if we dont, Rev. Williams said, history has a way of repeating itself.
There will be other young men who are pushed through the pipeline prison system if we dont raise Cain, he continued. There will be other issues of injustice in our society of we dont raise Cain.
Stating that God has the final word, Rev. Williams also preached calm and peace during protests of the controversial verdict.
A rally was scheduled Sunday at 6 p.m. against the Florida jurys decision.
The racist lynch mob is inflamed.
God doesn’t like liars and I’m guessing he likes liars who lead others away from him even less.
His defense was merely “self defense”
Tomorrow morning should be an interesting rush hour in the major cities, especially for those taking public transportation...
No, his defense was not the stand your ground law. The media is hopeless.
Who wants to make any bets that this “pastor”—so concerned about “justice”—is not fully on board with Margaret Sanger’s plan to “exterminate the Negro race”?
Guess this pastor forgot to read the truth about Cain and Able. Yes, pastor it is getting late.
I double-dog dare them to burn down Seattle!
Would that be the "sugar cain" or "hurri cain" variety???
Typical Christian reaction. Instead of love thy neighbor it is get the son of a bitch.
Maybe he isn't abel to read.
Judgement begins at the pulpit, “Reverend”...you’re deceiving your flock.
Who the hell does he think he is: Jeremiah Wright?
“Would that be the “sugar cain” or “hurri cain” variety???”
Or “cocaine”?
Wow. I didn’t realize there were churches in Seattle.
His defense technically was both. The judge allowed the jury instructions to contain syg despite the fact that the defense did not present it as a defense during trial.
Mt. Zion is a long-standing bastion of leftist Democratic politics.
No it wasn't. But by all means, pastor, go on pouring that gasoline on your sheep.
