Do Catholics EVER think through what they believe or are taught I wonder?

If the priest, or even worse a nun, told you something, you said yes sir, or yes ma’am, and that was the end of it. You didn’t dream of questioning something they told you. The thought of challenging church teaching never even entered your mind.
