Arthur Pink was a great man. I wish we could get every Christian in this country to read The Sovereignty of God.
And your experience regarding assurance of salvation is typical. I have discussed it with many who, like me, were raised in a church that taught libertarian free will of one stripe or another only to become Calvinists as adults. In my case I was a typical Southern Baptist. It wasn’t until we understood grace that we had real assurance. I know that I know that I know I am saved! What a blessing! I believe a lack of understanding of sovereignty robs many Christians of their rightful peace and joy, and I don’t mean that solely in reference to assurance.
Amen, amen, and amen. It is what is getting me through a rough patch of life at the moment.
