Who knew heathen religious holidays and fasts can yield spiritual fruit outside of Christianity? Thanks Francis for letting us know!

Joh_15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

I am reminded of the scene in the original War Of The Worlds film where the preacher holds a bible in the air and approaches the alien spacecraft in friendship.

And representatives of Islam will wish Christians a fruitful Lent and Jews a blessed Passover.

If he doesn’t have anything intelligent to say he should simply refrain from speaking and smile pleasantly or something.

You have placed some ellipses in the title of this post. What the Pope actually said was:
I also think with affection of those Muslim immigrants who this evening begin the fast of Ramadan, which I trust will bear abundant spiritual fruit. The Church is at your side as you seek a more dignified life for yourselves and your families. To all of you: o’scià!
I think you should have included his words without editing... Also, you could ask the moderator to correct the spelling of Muslim.

” . I also think with affection of those Muslim immigrants who this evening begin the fast of Ramadan, which I trust will bear abundant spiritual fruit. The Church is at your side as you seek a more dignified life for yourselves and your families.”

As always, pay attention to what is between the quotation marks.

We can always hope that the prayer and fasting of Buddhists, Hindus, and Muslims will bring them closer to God, even if their understanding of God is incomplete, or largely incorrect.

God knows their hearts. We don’t.

What is this? It is now acceptable to change the titles of posted threads? Or is it only acceptable to do it when it gives you a chance to slam the Catholic Church?

The actual title of the article is: Celebration of Holy Mass at the "Arena" sports camp (8 July 2013)

RM: Can you please change the thread title to the above, actual title of the article?

I tried Top Ramadan once....Wayyyy too salty and the noodles kept fighting to come back up...whew! I recommend the ketchup and crackers route, costs a bit more but the quality is there.

Oh for the love of God, who cares what someone’s screen name is?

As for the Pope’s comments, I refuse to rationalize or defend them.

Kinda funny considering the speaker doesn’t believe that Adam or Cain ever existed.
