Again, thanks so much. I needed the answers to those questions to formulate my overall response to this article.
I would *hope* that, in the event, 2 gay Catholics want to get married that they would be required to go to one of the other ministers (who are not against gay marriage).
I would also *hope* that the Catholic chaplain can also advise them of the state of their souls if they do so (ie. the mortal sin they are committing); however, I have to wonder just how many Catholic chaplains actually currently express the need to be a Catholic in good standing though...or if they tend to lean towards the wishy washiness I see more and more of these days.

The catholic chaplains I ever worked with were very faithful to instruct in Catholic doctrine. They all bravely and short handed tried to both run a Catholic parish and cover a military unit.
