It’s too bad that some of the comments in here are so hateful. Although I agree with Church teaching on homosexuality and acting on SSA, we are also called to love and respect these folks as human beings.

When people use such hateful descriptors of gays, they most definitely sound as if those for gay marriage are correct: that those against gay marriage are just a bunch of bigots. If we want to prove them wrong about that, we might start with avoiding such hateful language.

Fair point, and that’s coming from someone who has trouble controlling himself when I’m here among FRiends and allies. Their side is quite masterful as portraying themselves as non-hateful and harmless.

Take Ellen for example, or Modern Family.. the homosexuals in those programs are shown as warm, humorous, family-oriented, “just-like-you-and-me” folks. They’re excellent at painting themselves as sympathetic characters, often to the point where those of us on the other side of the debate are often cast - by default - as hateful villains.

I’ve gotta work on this myself. We do ourselves no favors when we go over the top.. even though many of them deserve to be shamed and called-out for what they truly are.
