I am determined to keep an open mind on Pope Francis but, thus far, I am not impressed. At worst, I survived John XXIII and Paul VI and, God willing, I will survive Pope Francis and live to see the election of another John Paul II. At best, he will surprise me and prove to be a far more brilliant pontiff than I expect him to be. In any event, for good or for ill, he is my pope for the duration.

I don't doubt that there is a "gay lobby" in the Vatican and elsewhere in the Church. I utterly deny (as I suspect you do as well) that Catholicism itself has anything that encourages or requires such an abomination. I would be encouraged by the re-institution of the Inquisition to deal with the miscreants.

I’ve actually enjoyed Pope Francis. Maybe he’s a protestant pope.
