I love the quote but not to back up an opinion of why someone else may go to Hell. I like it because it illustrates the wonderful gift of Christ's sacrifice that sinners might not perish - not because they stopped behaving sinfully, but because He has washed their sins from them and refuses to count/recognize future sinful behavior if they have accepted Him as their Lord and Savior. May not seem fair to those who really try hard to not commit sinful acts, but it is because HE IS.
Jeremiah 31:34:
No longer will they teach their neighbor,
or say to one another, Know the Lord,
because they will all know me,
from the least of them to the greatest,
declares the Lord.
For I will forgive their wickedness
and will remember their sins no more.
Quotes are only useful if truly apropos of the situation - I would no sooner take a quote like yours out of context than try to use the "Body is your temple" quote to declare that eating right and exercising is a requirement to the whole deal.
I say what I said to try to help believers keep it real and not fall into the habit that the enemy uses - misusing Biblical Words to further aq personal opinion/belief rather than conveying the true meaning of the quotes. When we do it, we help justify the Evil One's minions.
“I love the quote but not to back up an opinion of why someone else may go to Hell.”
The scripture posting is to respond to the thread subject and alert sinners that there is a savior in the Lord Jesus Christ and a free gift “Ephesians 2:8,9 - For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.”
The subject of the thread was speculation on certain individuals going to hell apparently even after accepting the Savior the Lord Jesus Christ, with the author apparently elevating the sins of others above his own, which is not my opinion.
Notice 1 Corinthians 6, 9-10 covers all sin, not just cherry picked sins that those involved in religious legalism try to throw at us to advance their agenda.
Verses 9-10:
“Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, 10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.”
But good news, there is a Savior!
Verse 11: “And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.”
Sin is sin, and their is one Savior the Lord Jesus Christ to wash those sins away for those who believe. We share and use the word of God with each other not to condemn other believers, but for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training into righteousness. “2 Timothy 3:16”
