Sorry I won’t be praying to Mary.

1 Timothy 2:5
For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus

That pretty much leaves Mary and the saints right out.

Since Mary is not God—neither the Mother of God (except for the body of Christ). She cannot be omnipresent. I imagine she is busier than a one-armed wallpaper hanger trying to help everyone. Perhaps Santa could give her some pointers?

More “Mary” worship.

Exodus 20:3

“Thou shalt have no other gods before me.”

The Ten Commandments, you may have heard of them. (This is número uno , by the way). Just a little Spanish lingo, there.

Non-Catholic: Catholics worship Mary!

Catholic: Catholics don't worship Mary. Church teaching is very clear that we are to worship God alone. We venerate (honor) her and ask for her prayers (much as I'd ask you to pray for me), but we don't worship her. If you see a Catholic who you presume is worshiping Mary, either you are wrong and are misreading their heart, or (possibly) you are right and you are looking at a Catholic who is ignorant of Church teaching. Got that?

Non-Catholic: Yeah, but...Catholics worship Mary!

Saint Worship?

Mary Worship

The Pope addressing the children and the congregation present underlined the importance of praying to the Madonna.

It don,t matter if it is the Pope or Joesph Smith, where does it say anything like that in the Bible?

The Holy Father also focused on the theme of the Holy Trinity during his Homily telling the parishioners present that The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are one. The Father, the Pope explained is the principle figure, he created everything, he created us. Jesus, meanwhile, said Pope Francis is the saviour. He came down to earth to give his life for us. Lastly, observing the importance of the Holy Spirit, the Pope said, he loves us.

The Holy Spirit is important, because he loves us...That's it...Because he loves us...

The Pope addressing the children and the congregation present underlined the importance of praying to the Madonna. Mary, the Holy Father said is always in a hurry to help us, teaching us to understand God. She was there, the Pope added, to help her cousin Elizabeth when she was expecting her baby and she is always there when we need her.

Mary on the other hand, has taken over the role of the Holy Spirit...In the Catholic religion, Mary is the one you pray to for understanding, comfort and any need you may come in contact with...

Certainly there's a need and a role for a deity to provide those things to the Body of Christ so Mary appears to be the fourth part of the Trinity, delivering those things that only the Trinity can provide, in real Christianity...This theology is anti-bible, anti-Christian, and anti-God...

So in retrospect, those bible only Christians who do not pray to Mary are void of understanding, confort, knowledge and the love of God...M.o

Jesus saves, through Jesus God can help us.

Mary is not a deity, she can’t help anyone.

I am looking for an English translation of this homily for a Church bible study. I have found the Italian text on the Vatican Website but the Google translation is very poor. Any help would be appreciated.

A poet explained once why fools always win over the wise, and why they rule the rest of us. He explained that a fool knows everything from the getgo, while a wise man has to think things over, and since he has to think things over, he sometimes errs, while the fool is never mistaken. Wise men argue among themselves, weigh doubts, and because of that are weak. Fools free of doubts and disagreements, are always sure of themselves, and therefore stronger.

You can bet that the Pope himself has doubts sometimes, while our snake handling theologians, followers of the Harold Campings or whoever out in the land of 30,000 “christian” sects, are always so certain of their own theologies, as you can observe on these threads.
