That might work except for the problem of "where did all this come from?". Add to that, the truth that there IS a design and order to the universe and not at all the random chaos some like to believe it is. However, I do agree with you that the choice we have is stark - there IS a God or there is NO god. I believe that God does exist because I have seen His work. I guess you could say I know too much to ever go to unbelief. I found out that God really IS a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him and that he CAN be found when we seek Him with all our hearts.
Part of it, I think I perceive, is the false modesty of rejecting “eternity in our hearts.” Some of us humans are happy enough in the world’s playground which is of, for, and about the world. But we have to put a lid on that “eternity” thing (which expresses itself as spiritual yearnings). And the world affirms this as normal.
By the way I admire the spiritual insight of your tagline. It is true! A life laid wholly on Jesus will incur NO more blame from heaven. Not a mite, not a speck. God assumed the entire metaphysical burden, as it were, of guilt of the saved at the cross. And inasmuch as we may care about other blames, it is because we are moved to illustrate God’s love to the world (and therefore DO try to make amends etc. as God empowers us to do so).
I suspect it is indeed quite random. If there’s only a one-in-a-million chance that life could emerge without a creator, then look around and notice that out of the millions and millions of stars we can see with planets around them, there’s no sign of life on any of them yet. I suppose every lottery winner thinks God chose him, but the fact is, random chance still accounts for one winner. Our planet won the lottery and here we are, convinced that the whole thing was planned that way. Well, you are.
