Don’t hold your breath, Sarah.
renounce his own commandments?
odds are low
His reply: “Allahu Akbar!”
So if you recite the 23rd psalm in a foxhole, you’re due for a dishonorable discharge?! (That is, if you ever make it out of the foxhole...)
President Barack Obama had better clear this up today, right now. Surely he is just allowing his handlers to throw up this kind of ridiculous, amoral, un-American trial balloon. I call on Obama to address this immediately with the American public, clear it up, and renounce these reports as the nonsense they surely in God's name must be.
- Sarah Palin
The only source of this trial balloon reported in this article is the Pentagon. Yes, it is truely from Obama, but who in the Pentagon supposedly came up with this? They purposely don’t want to assign it to a person or committee. Who in the Pentagon would make such a call?
This is a timely reminder- of when Obama went to the UN and started laying the foundation for this unjust movement, when he was talking about a video that 732 people saw:

“....U.S. soldiers could be prosecuted for promoting their Christian faith.”
.
Is it only about promoting their Christian faith or is it also about soldiers practicing their faith?
And what about Bhuddists, Muslims and Hindus in the Armed Forces? Are they allowed to promote their faith?
Strangely enough, our “Christian” congresscritters have been dead quiet about this matter. I guess they’re hoping to be invited to a prayer breakfast in the WH. LOL.
(Who’re they praying to?)
Here is Kipling:
"AS I PASS through my incarnations in every age and race,Surely, these bits of wisdom may be said to apply to the subject being discussed here, may they not? Under the guise of not allowing "prosyletizing," the duty of Chaplains to counsel and support persons of faith, and all persons who need them, according to their own conscience and beliefs, seems to be under threat.
I make my proper prostrations to the Gods of the Market Place.
Peering through reverent fingers I watch them flourish and fall,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings, I notice, outlast them all.We were living in trees when they met us. They showed us each in turn
That Water would certainly wet us, as Fire would certainly burn:
But we found them lacking in Uplift, Vision and Breadth of Mind,
So we left them to teach the Gorillas while we followed the March of Mankind.We moved as the Spirit listed. They never altered their pace,
Being neither cloud nor wind-borne like the Gods of the Market Place,
But they always caught up with our progress, and presently word would come
That a tribe had been wiped off its icefield, or the lights had gone out in Rome.
With the Hopes that our World is built on they were utterly out of touch,
They denied that the Moon was Stilton; they denied she was even Dutch;
They denied that Wishes were Horses; they denied that a Pig had Wings;
So we worshipped the Gods of the Market Who promised these beautiful things.When the Cambrian measures were forming, They promised perpetual peace.
They swore, if we gave them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease.
But when we disarmed They sold us and delivered us bound to our foe,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: "Stick to the Devil you know."On the first Feminian Sandstones we were promised the Fuller Life
(Which started by loving our neighbour and ended by loving his wife)
Till our women had no more children and the men lost reason and faith,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: "The Wages of Sin is Death."In the Carboniferous Epoch we were promised abundance for all,
By robbing selected Peter to pay for collective Paul;
But, though we had plenty of money, there was nothing our money could buy,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: "If you don't work you die."Then the Gods of the Market tumbled, and their smooth-tongued wizards withdrew
And the hearts of the meanest were humbled and began to believe it was true
That All is not Gold that Glitters, and Two and Two make Four
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings limped up to explain it once more.As it will be in the future, it was at the birth of Man
There are only four things certain since Social Progress began.
That the Dog returns to his Vomit and the Sow returns to her Mire,
And the burnt Fool's bandaged finger goes wabbling back to the Fire;And that after this is accomplished, and the brave new world begins
When all men are paid for existing and no man must pay for his sins,
As surely as Water will wet us, as surely as Fire will burn,
The Gods of the Copybook Headings with terror and slaughter return!"
Is that part of "fundamentally changing" America, as promised by the candidate, a promise that left to minds of citizens their own translations of the nature of that "change," but may have created an "anonymous power" which threatens the nation's very philosophical foundations, as laid out in the Declaration of Independence?
Both Pope Benedict's and Kipling's perceptive observations are, as another has observed, "brilliant."
Depending on which generational "anonymous power" leaders prevail at a given time in history, their promises of "perpetual peace," "the fuller life," and "abundance for all," like a proverbial "siren song," have produced misery, oppression, and disappointment, because they are based on a counterfeit idea:
"There is a way which seemeth right to a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death." - Proverbs 14:12There was a time, in America, when "another" idea prevailed and was described in the words and phrases of a Declaration of Independence. The people who promulgated that idea proclaimed "liberty throughout the land"--a liberty based on Creator-endowed life, rights, liberty and laws to protect them under a "Supreme Judge of the world."
