Why not try going after the truth and read posts #15 & #16. Its really very liberating
"And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." - John 8:32
I am free in Christ, free from the bondage of works and legalism that the Catholic church imposes on its followers.
Free to point out sin and point out hypocrisy without fear of being threatened with ex-communication and losing my salvation by a small minded, petty, Catholic hierarchy who will brook no dissent nor challenge to its entrenched authority.
I read those items, posted in 15-16, before posting the thread, reading both those and other commentary, enough to see through some of the priest's own possible game-playing, and see through the bishop's own writing, too, for I'm capable of holding various thoughts or concepts in mind simultaneously, even though writing it all completely down, fully organized and also footnoted to source, is more chore than I'm typically willing to engage in here.
Yes, I am truly liberated, Thanks. In fact...the spirit of the Lord spoke to me years ago now, the precise words "you are free". Two mid-morning days in row, the same exact words, completely out-of-the-blue so to speak. Not being able to swear by any greater than Himself, he extended the grace towards me to repeat the words, with them coming very quietly both times, as I trod the very same boards.
It is an amazing thing for a man to hear such as that, from the Creator of the universe.
