One of Dave’s favorite activities was to see whom God would seat next to him on airplanes as he traveled and spoke. He often said that he “could prove the existence of God” just by these providential occurrences.

While writing about Islam, he would end up seated next to a Muslim who didn’t really understand what Islam was about but was eager to hear the difference between the Bible and the Qur’an.

When Dave was writing about creation vs. evolution, the Lord would bring him, as a seat companion, an atheistic scientist who thought he had all the answers and was very surprised that there was another verifiable explanation to this universe.

Dave’s bold yet loving approach to any situation allowed him entrance into these conversations where many others would have been shut out.

His love for Jesus, for Israel, and for people in general was obvious to all. His enthusiasm for the truth, along with his anger over the sin and wickedness that he knew was robbing people of what God wanted for them, flamed his desire to share the Lord with anyone with whom he had contact.

What drew me to Dave hunt was his teachings on apostasy in the Church in general, the new age movement, the phony miracles, the rock music influence, and I wasn’t even saved when I started reading his books :)

I was seeking, and it had been about 6 years since I had read LATE GREAT PLANET EARTH, and I knew Hal Lindsey taught how the Bible spoke of a coming apostasy, so I went and found something new and found Dave hunt

I was stunned, for I was in a 12 step cult then, and read what he had to say about them, and he was so right, the phony religious aspect of the 12 step groups and I had read my Bible all that time seeing how different what God said compared to the 12 step groups

It was because someone wrote those things that I was convicted and chose to believe what God said, not what man said, and I fell on my knees and got saved around October 1988

All the catholic bigotry expressed here against Hunt, it is shameful. When people like myself used to engage in these debates, we always used Scripture to back up what we said, but to just dive in and insult people...Bible believers never did that here, but others sure do

and this thread is proving that again.
