what’s funny is anyone who would say the Church teaches we are saved by our own personal merits and not by grace alone, doesn’t understand the Faith. ( which of course goes without saying ) How did you come to such an erroneous statement?
i notice you avoid answering why Jesus commanded the Church to baptize?
can you name anyone before the 16th century that agrees with your “two baptism” theory?
“whats funny is anyone who would say the Church teaches we are saved by our own personal merits and not by grace alone,”
If that’s the case, then no Catholic knows their doctrine, as I’ve never met one who could tell me that they were actually saved by grace. They could only tell me that they hoped they would go to heaven in the end (but that they could not know one way or the other), or they told me I was arrogant for trusting in Christ for my salvation.
That’s what happens when you trust in the carnal work over the faith to get you anywhere.
“i notice you avoid answering why Jesus commanded the Church to baptize?”
I notice you avoided answering the reply I already gave, and are now pretending to notice that I avoided it so you can get the pressure off of me noticing that you paid no notice to the three different Bishops that your boys Gregory and Theodoret notably said held the throne of Peter. Much ado about noting, I guess.
