Alliance Defending Freedom provide slides from the Power Point presentation used by the U.S. Army Reserve in training soldiers on religious extremism.

A U.S. Army Reserve Equal Opportunity training brief describes "Evangelical Christianity" and "Catholicism" as examples of "religious extremism," according to the Archdiocese for the Military Services and the Chaplain Alliance for Religious Liberty, who shared a copy of the documents with The Christian Post.
"The number of hate groups, extremists and anti‐govt organizations in the U.S. has continued to grow over the past three years, according to reports by the Southern Poverty Law Center. They increased to 1,018 in 2011, up from 1,002 in 2010 and 602 in 2000," reads the first page of the slide presentation labeled "Extremism & Extremist Organizations."
Listed alongside "extremist" groups and organizations like the Klu Klux Klan and al-Qaida, the U.S. Army slideshow has "Evangelical Christianity" as the first bullet, followed by the Muslim Brotherhood, Ultra-Orthodox Judaism and farther down on the slide, Catholicism.
According to the training documents, "Extremism is a complex phenomenon" that is present in every religion due to "some followers that believe that their beliefs, customs and traditions are the only 'right way' and that all others are practicing their faith the 'wrong way,' seeing and believing that their faith/religion superior to all others."
"Men and women of faith who have served the Army faithfully for centuries shouldn't be likened to those who have regularly threatened the peace and security of the United States," retired Col. Ron Crews, executive director of the Chaplain Alliance for Religious Liberty, said in a statement that included a link to controversial Power Point presentation. Crews reportedly was alerted to the training material by a concerned soldier.
There are no dates on the slides to indicate when the training might have been presented to soldiers, but the Army Chief of Chaplains office has said that the training was an isolated incident and the slides were not sanctioned by the U.S. Army Department. A separate Army spokesman told the Navy Times that the materials were presented last year to soldiers and once discovered, were discarded.

"The archdiocese is astounded that Catholics were listed alongside groups that are, by their very mission and nature, violent and extremist," the Archdiocese for the Military Services said in a statement, as reported by World Magazine. Roman Catholics make up 20 percent of active-duty members of the military, while other faith groups and denominations, such as Muslims, Buddhists and Southern Baptists, are less than 2 percent of the U.S. military.
"It is dishonorable for any U.S. military entity to allow this type of wrongheaded characterization. It also appears that some military entities are using definitions of 'hate' and 'extreme' from the lists of anti-Christian political organizations. That violates the apolitical stance appropriate for the military," added Col. Crews.
One "anti-Christian political organization" in question is the Southern Poverty Law Center, cited as a source in the training documents. The SPLC has drawn criticism from conservatives over its designation of faith-based organizations as "hate groups," such as the case with nonprofit, pro-family organization the Family Research Council. On its current list of 1,007 "known hate groups operating across the country," the SPLC cites the Washington, D.C.-based group as "anti-gay" due to its biblical views on marriage and sexuality.
This comes directly from Napolitano’s Dept. of Homeland Security office. It was promulgated a year or so ago.

Yet we keep seeing things like this. They are being changed and trained to attack groups in the US that the FedGov and the elite have no use for. Don't be surprised when they come.

When the Catholic Church and Jerry Falwell stood up to Clinton on queers in the military, the media changed gears.
The media began to put the vast majority of it's resources into both obviously and subtly working to eliminate Christian morality from society and to attack and slander anyone who stood up for Christian morality. Anyone, even a democrat, who tried to live a Christian life or even just hold the line on a few things was attacked and targeted. They were targeted with big money and free media coverage when they ran for office and falsely accused of immorality in every venue the media and democrat fascists had at their disposal if they weren't in public office.
Christians at all levels were removed from jobs for not agreeing to new social criteria, their simple errors, their refusal to "dialogue" with Satan, and even outright lies and baseless accusations. Christians in office or in Churches that were targeted, unlike ham sandwiches, were very, very, seldom indicted or even confronted with evidence but that didn't matter. Neutralizing them mattered, and the people who stood up were knocked down and either rendered far less effective or completely ineffective.
To this day some people who were never indicted of a thing are scorned by fellow Christians for what the media accused them of. Others are held to the very same high standards Christians refuse to stand up for in any meaningful way in their own lives. The very same people, though, will tell you they know the media is just the propaganda arm of the democrat fascist party. Apparently, though, a lot of people who claim to be Christian are willing to accept as fact anything the media says about a Christian or a Christian group.
Their change of strategy worked very, very, well. By the time they had to defend BJ Clinton over his lies and adultery, most people who claim to be Christian were willing to ignore immoral behavior in return for the economy doing well. People who ten years earlier would have worked their fingers to the bone to elect a dead hamster rather than see someone who supported queers in the military stay in office were more than happy to go along to get along.
People who had always before based their outlook on Christian morality were willing to accept "fairness" as the new standard. Whatever didn't threaten their comfortable life wasn't a big deal for them anymore no matter how immoral it was. The vast majority of the people who were dedicated to Christianity as the compass for their lives in the late eighties tossed that compass aside to embrace secular humanist GPS. "Christian conservatives" as a force in politics had rusted away to nothing in less than two decades of increasing prosperity.
Nothing shows how effective the corrosive effects of this society on Christians better than the lack of massive demonstrations against queers marrying one another. Reeds bend in the wind, that's a fact and it never changes.
Christians have decided that as long as they can gripe about reeds in the wind there's no reason to bother with the heavy lifting required to reposition the fan that generates the wind. The Dept of Homeland Security isn't the cause of any of this, it's one of the consequences of Christians being brainwashed into accepting a "fair" humanist society rather than a moral Christian society.

I’m in a debate / conversation with a lib and can’t remember that modern socialist theorist duo that obama follows. (Not alinsky). Its a hyphenated word with both the theorists’ names, i think. There are movements in the USA that uses the name “CHRISTIAN” even as they pervert the teachings of Christ and the Scriptures.
The problem with these idiots (a kind word I am using ) in the Army is they don’t differentiate these people with Evangelical Christianity and Catholicism.

Hutaree
Hutaree is a militia movement group adhering to the ideology of the Christian Patriot movement (there’s the word “Christian” again ), based near Adrian, Michigan, in the United States. The group was formed in early 2006.
The name “Hutaree” appears to be a neologism; the group’s web site says that it means “Christian warriors”.
The group became widely known in 2010 after the FBI prosecuted them in federal court for an alleged plan for violent revolt. The prosecution said this was to have involved killing a police officer and attacking the funeral with bombs. The presiding judge dismissed these charges. Three members pled guilty to possessing a machine gun and were sentenced to time served.

But yes, for Christianity’s detractors the Crusades and the Inquisition never ended, and those who label themselves Christian today must somehow be complicit in the atrocities of centuries ago.
Is it logical? No.
