Salvation can only come through Jesus Christ, not through tarot readers and fortune tellers, Pope Francis has said.
Preaching at morning Mass at the Domus Sanctae Marthae in Rome today, Pope Francis said: "In order to solve their problems many people resort to fortune tellers and tarot cards. But only Jesus saves, and we must bear witness to this! He is the only one."
"Mary always leads us to Jesus, as she did at Cana when she said: 'Do whatever he tells you'. Let us trust in the name of Jesus, let us invoke the name of Jesus, and let the Holy Spirit push us to say this prayer trusting in the name of Jesus...it will do us all good....in this world that offers us so many saviours, it is only the name of Jesus that saves."

Love that, Johngrace! May St. Benedict, by the power of God, put the demons to flight!
WOW....all the way to Post 9 until the Anti-Catholic bashing begins. ha.
Those items pictured are not venerated as Jesus is, but are reminders to help mortals remember in the hum drum of daily life to focus on God.
Par for the course...Catholic bashers are ignorant of the catholic faith, but feel free to bash away.
Very excellant post.
Yes. Jesus with his prays do. I gave a blessed anointed St Ben medal and cloth to my friend whose wife is into spellcasting. She falls down when he takes it out of his wallet. She is prayer work in progress. Jesus gives us tools. That medal is a living prayer inscribed. I wear to bed. I have not have threaten dreams/nightmares in years.
Good points
You ever read about Father Paul of Moll. He used these medals all the time. I do not know why he is not a Formal Saint yet. My mother had his book when growing up. The charismatic movement book catalog had it.
Thanks for this, johngrace.
It is a free e-book. I have it on my tablet.
“Oh I do, I do, I do believe in spooks.”
Not really.
Hertz this week: The Dietary Laws, and the same word - “tinshemet” - used for “bird” (LEV XI:18) and “reptile” (XI:30).
