Yes, they can be confusing - I believe Donnie was Band of Brothers and Mark was all of the other movies I mentioned and then some. Wasn’t Donnie also in the movie the Sixth Sense?

All abuse is wrong. When it was covered up and protected by the Catholic hierarchy, it was 1000 times worse than simple abuse.
My wife went into panic attack when The Rock jumped off the building early on and we couldn’t finish. (she is a big Rock fan).

Percentage wise their are more homosexual abuse cases in protestant faiths and the Jewish commnity. But the Catholic Church is the only one with a head of the church and the only faith organization you can get any money out of it, so it’s the Catholics they go after. There is also more sex abuse cases among the teaching professions (public schools) and elderly care than there are among Catholic priests. Public schools hardly ever fire the perpetrator, they just move them from one district to the other. The Catholic Church is the one with the money and lawyers are not stupid.

A funny story about Wahlberg. He had a part in a movie that had several real martial artists in it, and there was a scene where he was at the top of a hill, running down it to escape, when one of the martial artist villains pushes a car after him.
He was supposed to run for a while, then dive behind a big rock for his own safety, since the car was uncontrolled. However, the car was balanced so precariously, and the martial artist was so strong, he basically *threw* the car after him.
Wahlberg later commented that the look of abject terror on his face was not acting. The director loved the take, fortunately.
I looked at “Boogie Nights” more as a cautionary tale about what that lifestyle will do, I sure didn’t see it as celebrating it.
So? It’s still a graphic, horribly anti-family movie. You can take a hardcore porn film and put a warning to kids at the end but that doesn’t make it a good movie.

That site sure writes funny to be a credible site, for instance, here where they go from saying “child sex-abuse” and then mixes up some things to give a false impression by describing adult sex instead. This isn’t the way respectable sources write and mix and match.

I don’t agree with his politics, or his stance on gun-control, but I still think he’s a great actor and a real “hottie!” I’ve read some of his interviews, and he seems to be a man dedicated to his family and his hometown. He also did behind the scenes (ie. without a lot of publicity) visits to the military in Afghanistan and he supports our troops.
Yeah, and I remember his early days as “Marky Mark” too. I read recently where he was having some of his tattoos removed and had his kids accompany him as he went to the doctor so they could see/hear his pain—he doesn’t want them doing what he did! I had to smile at his obvious “growth and maturity” in transitioning from punkster to actor to respectable husband/dad. I bet he’s a neat guy...
Enough already! I feel like I am living in an alternate universe. After reading the comments, I realize that there are still a majority of people who think the church has done absolutely nothing to change their policies in screening seminarians, reporting abuses, removing the culprits, apologizng, etc.. I expect better from Freepers who ought to know better.
Because the RC Church is so huge, and because it has a hierarchy, the abuses of which 80% of the cases were attributable to - homosexual clergy with teenage boys, they have been broadcast all over and over and over and over again, and again, and again!!!!! They are not typically pedophilia but homosexual in nature. The fact that this is still being called Pedophilia is harmful to our youth, See my comments below about the Boy Scouts!!
Yes the abuses were horrible; Yes, they should have been stopped and punished and removed from the clergy; Yes the victims deserved attention and apology from the bishops, etc, and there was no excuse for the many years that nothing was done - which should have been done case by case immediately. The church has learned its lesson, although there is still some who are in denial. However, Pope Benedict has been excellent in cleaning out the church of many bad bishops - who were either homosexuals themselves or were afraid to act and intimidated by the enormity of the problem. Thank God that many seminaries have been totally restructured and candidates for prieshood are now being screened very well. The newly ordained priests are terrific, at least the ones I have met in the past 5 years are very dedicated and holy men.
HAS SOCIETY LEARNED ANYTHING FROM THIS DEBACLE?
NO! Harping continually against the RC Church will not correct the problems in the general society. The fact is that the RC church has adressed their problems, and hopefully will not have new cases anymore or will be handled better in the future.
BUT, WHAT ABOUT THE BOY SCOUTS? WHAT ABOUT THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS?
The Gay Lobby is trying to force the Boy Scouts to accept Homosexuals as troop leaders. It is to the Gay Lobby’s advantage to continue to lable the Catholic Church problems as Pedophilia when it was actually primarily homosexual in nature.
As for the schools, is no one concerned about the constant drum of cases whereby teachers are abusing our children from small kids to high schoolers? Both male and female teachers! Is it because these institutions are less easy targets than the RCC Church?
If we as a society close our eyes and only keep yammering about a problem that has been resolved and then look the ohter way at other abusers, how is that helping our children?
This is the Mark Wahlberg who starred in "Boogie Nights"....he NEEDED to change his life! If he has repented, good for him.
