An excellent interview with Pope Francis before he was elected. worth reading in its entirity,
[Cardinal Bergolio to Reporter] — Friend, you are a socialist and your friends are socialists. And you are the reason for 70 years of misery in Russia and Europe now is seizing in pain from your policies. You believe in the redistribution of wealth and it makes entire populations poor. You want to nationalize everything and bring every human endeavor under your control. You destroy a mans incentive to take care of his very own family, a crime against nature and natures God.
When I read the link was pulled - I decided it was for real.
It sounds like Him to me. I read somewhere, I think it was a Raymond Arroyo email containing a quote from somewhere - that Cardinal Bergoglio is known to be an ___-kicking kind of guy.
“
low information voter
Makes me think it is a fake interview.
“
Note that description is very often used - in some circles here.
AND the Cardinal said that only just recently he had been studying these American things.
Sounds exactly correct that he would use such a term in the circumstances. Maybe he was Rush-in-the-face of the ‘reporter’
I got very skeptical after I saw the expression “low information voters” in the Cardinal’s quote.
Look at the nature of power. In Europe first and now in America, elected men have taken it upon themselves to indebt their people to create an atmosphere of dependency. And why? For their own selfish need to increase their own personal power. Ive been a keen observer of the effect this has on the people, especially the poor. They are very good at creating poverty where there is no reason to explain it.
The Pope preserved from the possibility of error? Has he read much history?
Don’t hold your breath waiting to learn the source of this fictitious interview. http://paxonbothhouses.blogspot.com/2013/03/pope-francis-socialism-causes-misery.html

Now, more than ever, we need to call to mind the words of Archbishop Charles Chaput:
We make a very serious mistake if we rely on media like the New York Times, Newsweek, CNN, or MSNBC for reliable news about religion. These news media simply dont provide trustworthy information about religious faithand sometimes they cant provide it, either because of limited resources or because of their own editorial prejudices. These are secular operations focused on making a profit. They have very little sympathy for the Catholic faith, and quite a lot of aggressive skepticism toward any religious community that claims to preach and teach Gods truth. Things of the Church reported in the secular media, particularly about the Holy Father, need to be viewed with the most jaundiced eye.
Those words would tend to serve you well here as well as in life.

How does an interview “not work out” - it is what it is.
What he really meant was he could not get the Pope to say what he wanted him to say
please see post #19 and #20. I tried to stop this train.
It can’t be real. He would never have used the phrase “low-information voter.” Pity.
POLITICALLY CREATED POOR-these are powerful words which tell a very long story, and accurately. Those words need to go out far and wide.
A number of things show this is not real. Even though it is essentially true, I don’t think Cardinal Bergoglio would say publicly that Pope John Paul II “rescued” him. He would never say that South America is lost. Also, this interview makes it sounds like he has been a critic of socialism, I don’t remember him ever expressing that.
Almost every line of this makes it clear, this thing is false, and the person who wrote is a moron.
And yet it sounded soooo good!
:)

Pox, not pax.
Low information blogger, it would seem.
Actually, no, not almost every line. Some lines. And the person who think that every line shows it to be false is, well, can we say mor . . .
Thank you so much for highlighting that excerpt and for the ping!
