Truth to tell, I recall Robert Conquest as putting it up around 40 million. I have been going with that number but some make distinctions between actual murder and starvation which (they argue) was more from ineptitude than malice.
I simply think that as conservatives we need to have some hard, consistent numbers.
I would like hard numbers if you find any. But from everything I’ve read, the starvation of the kulaks in Ukraine was not due to ineptitude, but done as a plan.
Maybe Scholzenitsen wrote about the nubmers of dead. I’m sure I spelled his name wrong though. I need to order “The Gulag”, I never did finish it because I was visiting someone and read their copy.
