But where are the crosses in our churches today??

A few years ago, a friend of mine invited me to join his Baptist church. The first thing I noticed was the absence of a cross both outside the church and inside which I thought was very strange....

And for the almost a year I attended, all the pastor's sermons were entirely on 1 Corinthians.....I thought that was strange too.

I know our Baptist Church has a Cross right on the wall above the Pastor’s head as he stands in the pulpit. And, when a Pastor uses an expository preaching style (ie. preaching through the books of the bible) it can easily take a year or even two to preach through as book as large as 1 Coriinthians. I remember our former Pastor taking about a year to preach through 1 Thesselonians, and its a relatively short NT book.

I am Catholic but the Southern Baptist church here has a bigger, more impressive cross on the steeple than does the Catholic church. The deficiencies of this particular Catholic Church building have to do with Vatican II and modernism, which infected not just the Mass but even architecture (but not faith and beliefs, fortunately).
