Hes right. Not just that, but what is old these days? My husband and I have a friend who is still skiing, flying a plane and boating in his late seventies. Your friend is a feisty daredevil! I like him : - 0
Fr. Raymond de Souza commented on EWTN this morning that this is the oldest College of Cardinals ever, making the selection of a 76 year old, a 'youngster' by their experience.

"Fr. Raymond de Souza commented on EWTN this morning that this is the oldest College of Cardinals ever, making the selection of a 76 year old, a 'youngster' by their experience." Think of this in light, though, of the fact that Pope B-16 accepted all those resignations of American Bishops (and others) when they hit 75.
He (of course) had good reasons to move a bunch of them out when they hit 75, but it is interesting that Pope Francis is starting out as Pope being a year older than the mandatory retirement submission age for Bishops (at the ultimate discretion of the Pope).
