“1 Timothy 2
I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for ALL PEOPLE 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior.”
The important word is the FOR right before the ALL PEOPLE. Secondly, if it was “TO all people,” you would suppose that we could pray to the dead in hell or people yet living.
“Catholics believe that a soul in Heaven is different than it was on earth.”
Since the same soul is regenerated on Earth, and merely awaits the body in heaven, I’m not sure at what point Omniscience or Omnipresence gets bestowed upon it.
Omniscience is not bestowed on souls as that is reserved for God. But we know souls are more holy in Heaven as they would have passed through purgation (if necessary) before entering into Heaven.
But is Omniscience required? I don’t think so. They are with God and He is Omniscient and Omnipotent so He can provide them with whatever information they need.
In Revelation 8,3-4 there is an example of Angels and Saints praying.
Also Jesus advocates intercessory prayer in Matthew 5:44.
