If you really start digging you will be surprised and fascinated by many of the writings of the former Cardinal Ratzinger. Not always in an agreeable way I might add.

My local Diocese may indeed shrink to 200 Latin Mass adherents meeting at a church across town. Is that a good thing for the world and society? Personally I think not.

I find the comments on this article interesting.One poster says “When Augustine sensed his death approaching he “excommunicated” himself (ceased receiving the Eucharist, he did not separate himself from The Church)* and undertook a public penance. In his last days he manifested his solidarity with the public sinners who seek for pardon and grace through the renunciation of communion.”The Pope wrote this.
