Unfortunately, as Orr noted years ago, Many have sadly forgotten that the only evidence of the new birth is the new life, and the Scriptures make perfectly clear that if we profess to follow Jesus with our lips but do not follow Him with our lives, we do not belong to Him. (Im not talking about momentary lapses in our walks with the Lord or about serious mistakes that we make, only to reject and renounce them. Gods mercy and forgiveness are great. Im talking about the consistent, willful pattern of our lives. Are we following Jesus or not?) Its time to say goodbye to this watered-down, sin-excusing, so-called gospel that offers everything and calls for nothing. Its time to get back to the cross and back to the truth. Otherwise, as America collapses in a heap of amoral ruin, the soft preachers of America will be largely to blame.
Excellent article.
One of the issues I have with the charismatic movement is that they are big on signs and there's little outward evidence of what they claim the signs mean, having an *encounter* with God.
For all the experience, tongues, slain in the Spirit stuff, there's not any more evidence of holy living than those who haven't experienced those things.

And no sign they understand the gravity of what they are claiming.

A problem with CM can be really bad doctrines about such things as each person becoming their own Christ. At the heart of the movement and their leaders, if you delve into it, you will often find really, really bad doctrine.

One only needs to observe Benny Hinn to understand the dangers of the charismatic.
