think before you leap......this was a society two thousand years ago.....do you seriously think that the Bereans checked existing scripture.....and if so, ....how did they possibly do thsat.....sheesh

Acts 17:10-11 10 The brothers immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea, and when they arrived they went into the Jewish synagogue. 11 Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.

Scripture is true. Or are you going to tell us it's wrong?

If I have a choice to believe either you or the Bible, guess who I'm going to believe?

nope, scripture is not wrong....I thought that we were discussing the "man on the street"...I merely suggested that the average person did not have accessibility to the written word, and that the average "man on the street" didn't go out looking for anything. I do agree that people in religious environments and perhaps what there was of academia could more readily access what information was available. That isn't what we were discussing.
