FULL TITLE: Primary school bans six-year-old boy from wearing Christian band in class for 'health and safety reasons'
A furious dad has slammed a school after his six-year-old son was banned from wearing a Christian band in class on health and safety grounds.
Peter Thompson's son Eddie had been wearing the band, decorated with the Christian symbol of a fish, out of sight for six months.
But when a teacher spotted Eddie scratching his ankle she noticed the band, covered by his sock, and ordered him to hand it over.
Now he is being kept at home after he was banned from wearing the band at school on health and safety grounds.
Mr Thompson, 39, is demanding an apology from the head at Estfeld Primary in Tickhill, near Doncaster, and is keeping Eddie at home until the situation is resolved.
He has made a series of complaints and says he believes the school is discriminating against him because he is a Christian, after Eddie was told he could not wear the band at school.
Mr Thompson, from Tickhill, said : 'I couldnt believe it when Eddie told me what had happened. He was so upset.

This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

It was nice living in a free country for a while, wasn’t it?
Do you get it? Schools are completely infested with far-left liberals. There are two thoughts that they hate and want to stamp them out: guns and Christianity. They expel kids who have anything that symbolizes guns or Christianity.
But if the kid announces that he is “gay” he is idolized.
This is in England, but could just as easily happened here.
Irony is, this Christian band was sold during a school fundraiser.
If you send your child to a school with a uniform policy and then you break the policy, you reap what you sow.
Exactly! How many ragheads are in the school? Islam is the only protected ‘religion’- it is controlling the world by PC and therefore Sharia law. EVERY Christian should wear a symbol of their religion-Hindus and Buddhists too. What are they going to do- toss everyone out?

I would put my kid in a Christian t-shirt or something every day and when they banned him, I would homeschool and remind them they are the ones losing money.
