I don't get it either, and it's not limited to theological/religious discussion. I see the same thing happen on purely political threads. An article is posted about Joe Republican (whoever), and regardless of the topic, in which Joe Republican is often doing or saying something right ... the Geek Chorus shows up to rant about Joe's horridness on some other topic, and high-five each other over their sophomoric insults ...

Then we wonder how 0bama gets re-elected.
