And that answers the question of being “blotted out” how?

Revelation 2:4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. 5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

These were people who had “left” their first love. It’s rather obvious they were once faithful. It wasn’t that they were “at risk” of leaving. They were once faithful but had already “left”. So if you were trying to show that people will not leave if once faithful that verse alone would indicate they can.
