2 Corinthians 4:8-9 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
9.Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
Revelation 2:4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. 5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
These were people who had left their first love. Its rather obvious they were once faithful. It wasnt that they were at risk of leaving. They were once faithful but had already left. So if you were trying to show that people will not leave if once faithful that verse alone would indicate they can.
