I was just watching NCIS. Ducky ‘s protege asked the difference between ethics and morals. Ducky responded, “An ethical man knows it is wrong to cheat on his wife. A moral man will not cheat on his wife.”

Teaching right and wrong is a beginning. But The
Law is only to teach us we are incapable of living righteously. It is designed to lead us to a relationship with the One who can live such a life in us.

Humanism is devoid of both Western ethics and morals. It’s motto is “do as thou wilt.” The worse possible sin is discernment - “don’t judge.” If you are one of the connected powerful, the rule of law does not apply, either.

I really believe that one must ask Jesus Christ to live in him. I also believe that one then must let Jesus Christ live in him.

I believe that when a perosn does this, it allows that person to essentially govern himself. The fact that Jesus is in you is the limiter of evil, that relationship is the self governor, that which will guide a person when there is no other earthly force guiding that person.

Your quote regarding the ethical man and the moral man is excellent, I fully agree with that.
