I'm currently reading Jonah Goldberg's Liberal Fascism. It seemed an appropriate purchase after this election.

What I find interesting is how often the anti-liberal (classical sense) progressive movements have a weird religious component to them. Reverence for State, reverence for Volk, socialist Jesus, whatever.

I came across a word for that recently... religious humanism. I haven't checked it out yet but wouldn't be surprised to see it match up.

Is Goldberg's book any good?
